The short version

This is a publishing site. We do not sell anything from these pages, we do not ask you to open an account, and we do not run a newsletter. The practical consequence is that there is very little about you here to protect.

What arrives automatically

Like any web server, ours records the ordinary technical details of a request: the page asked for, a timestamp, the browser and operating system reported, an approximate region derived from the network address, and the page you arrived from if your browser sent one. These logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.

Measurement

We use aggregate analytics to see which pages get read and which get abandoned. That tool reports patterns across visitors rather than individuals, and we do not use it to build a profile of any one reader.

What we never ask for

No name, no email address, no postal address, no payment details. If a page ever appears to ask you for any of those while claiming to be us, it is not us.

What happens when you leave

Following a purchase link takes you to the official retailer's own website, which is a separate company operating under its own privacy policy and its own terms. The details you enter there — name, address, card — are collected by them and never reach us. We are told that a sale occurred so that a commission can be attributed; we are not told who made it.

Cookies and similar storage

Two kinds are in play. Measurement cookies, described above. And an affiliate tracking cookie set when you follow a purchase link, which exists to attribute a commission and carries no personal information. Your browser settings can block either, and the site works without them.

Processors

Three third parties handle data on our behalf as part of running the site: the hosting provider, the analytics provider, and the affiliate network. Each operates under its own terms. We do not pass data to anybody else, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone, which would be difficult given how little we hold.

Children

This site is written for adults and the product it discusses is formulated for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anybody under eighteen.

Asking us something

Depending on where you live you may have a right to request a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Given that we hold almost nothing identifiable, the answer to a request is usually short. Use the contact route in the footer and allow thirty days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use the site after that date means the revised version applies.
